What to include in a wedding invitation: a checklist
A wedding invitation should answer who, when, where and who to ask. At minimum: the couple's names, the date and time of each ceremony, the venue with a map, and a contact number. Family lines, dress code and a short message are the extras that make it personal.

The essentials
- Names of the couple, in the form you want guests to use.
- Family lines for both sides, such as son of or daughter of.
- Date, day and time for each ceremony, for example haldi and wedding.
- Venue name and address for each ceremony.
- A phone number guests can call or message on WhatsApp.
What makes it easier for guests
- A Google Maps link, so people do not retype the address.
- The city, if guests are travelling.
- A dress code or colour note for a ceremony, if you have one.
- A reply-by date if you want a headcount.
What to leave out
Long text blocks are hard to read on a phone. Keep each ceremony to a line or two and put the details guests act on, like time and map, first.
Common questions
Should I include a phone number on a digital invitation?
Yes. It gives guests a direct way to ask for directions or confirm attendance, which matters when there is no built-in RSVP.
